The Third Annual Stella Artois Derby DayClub is almost here! It’s Arizona’s only Kentucky Derby party with live racing, betting, and polo party-style tents on May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, at Turf Paradise.
The Speed
The Kentucky Derby, or “run for the roses”, is just over a mile long and finishes in typically just over two minutes. The current Kentucky Derby record is held by Secretariat who ran the full race at 1:59 in 1973. In the sport where winning by a nose means everything, it comes as no surprise that the slowest finisher of the Derby was Stone Street in 1908 clocking in at 2:15. That’s right; there’s only a span of 16 seconds between the fastest and slowest race ever run at the Kentucky Derby. Now that’s speed!
Tickets also run out fast so be sure to get yours before they’re all gone. Options from VIP reserved tables to general admission are available now. For more information about the event, check us out here.
