The 2022 event welcomed the polo debut of retired National Hockey League and Arizona Coyotes Star Shane Doan, the return of the Riot House Polo DayClub, and The Grimaldi’s Pizza Disco. The event featured four great matches with top players including polo legend Nic Roldan as well as Melissa Ganzi and Jason Crowder along with other top players from around the world. Aspen Valley was victorious again, securing their seventh Molina Cup title.

More than 12,000 fans turned out for the 10th Anniversary event that increased onsite tents to stretch over ¼ mile for the first time. Aspen Valley won an unprecedented sixth title overtaking La Mariposa Argentina Polo Club 9-6 in the featured match. A complimentary zip line, Charro Lounge, and a morning beer festival were new additions for guests.

Under a new name for 2020, The Stella Artois Polo Classic: Presented by Ketel One, a production of the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships returned with a focus on social distancing and a key focus to help schools, nonprofits and charities hit hard by COVID-19.

Polo Superstar and Ralph Lauren Model Nacho Figueras carried his team to hard fought 7 to 5 victory. Special performance by two cast members of Americano!, the country’s most intriguing new musical plus performances by the Phoenix Symphony, Doc Jones, field-side tango dancers from Fred Astaire, Phoenix Rapper Ali Tomineek and creative fusion with the Phoenix Opera, and a first ever acoustic guitar showcase in the Sanderson Lincoln Black Label Lounge.

New concepts were introduced such as Hall Pass, the most unusual pop-up sports bar, the all-new F.A.B. Tent, standing for fashion, art and beauty, the “World’s Farthest Rugby Sevens Match,” a second mid-field skybox and The Apex Cup, which recognized the top cars of the approximately 200 on site.

Bottled Blonde joined the event as a sponsor resulting in a 50% expansion of the sideline lounge. New elements introduced this year include “Fried & Fizzy,” a pop-up restaurant featuring the unusual culinary combination of fried chicken and champagne, Southwest Shakespeare Company, Phoenix Opera, hip-hop artist Ali Tomineek and Red Bull skydivers.

An extended day was introduced this year, which lasted 8 hours from 10am in the morning to 6pm and offered fan’s a “Cultural Concert” during the Women’s Sunset Match that consisted of a Grammy Performer, and members of the Arizona Opera among other acts.

The lineup featured the top women’s team in the world during 2014 featuring professional female polo players like Sunny Hale, Sarah Wiseman and Paola Martinez, and the top professional gay polo player in the world, Caroline Anier, on the Women’s World All-Star Team. Sunday more teams assembled for the USPA Governor’s Cup Match which included Polo players from around the U.S. visiting for the United States Polo Association’s Annual meeting in Scottsdale. Bentley Scottsdale was the new title sponsor and a Dog Fashion Show was a new addition for this year.

The event hosted America’s high school champions, Work to Ride, in a match against the country’s 2012 college champions, the University of Virginia and the 2013 Arizona Porsche Concours d ’Elegance car show.

More than 9,000 attended the 2nd Annual Scottsdale Polo Championships: Horses+Horsepower. In the opening morning match the Arizona Polo Club, Colombia edged the USA. Work to Ride triumphed over Harvard University in the first afternoon match, 8 to 3 and Nic Roldan led Bel Air over The Hamptons, 6 to 4, which was captained by Tommy Biddle Jr.
